Carol Alvarez

I first started life in Tyler, Texas where I was born.  My father’s work transferred our family to Seguin when I was four, and I have been here ever since.  I graduated from Seguin High School in 1974 and still root for the Mighty Matadors.  I furthered my studies at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas (go Red Raiders!!), receiving a bachelor’s degree in Music Education, with a strong emphasis on performance.  After graduation I was invited to be a Teaching Assistant at Tech, while also working on a master’s degree.

I am married to the love of my life, Manuel Alvarez, and we have two amazing children, Andrew and Rebekah.  Over the years I have worked in the legal field as a legal assistant, as well as being an Escrow Officer/Assistant in the Title Insurance business.

In my off time, I stayed busy for 30 years leading worship at several churches, as well as arranging songs for the congregation.  I love to do in depth studies of scripture, pulling information not only from the Bible, but history, geology, and cultural sources.  When asked, my husband and I also do counseling for others in need of guidance and understanding.  I have always been very active in our local church, and to date it has been the most fulfilling part of my life.

Oddly enough, my curiosity has led me to take numerous “personality” tests over the years.  Amazingly I always walk away with the same results of being told I am an advocate, thus my love of the law, right and wrong, and defending people.  I must be in the right job!
